Want to learn ukulele? How this works:

The Ukulele is a fun (and relatively easy) instrument to learn! It’s portable so you can take it with you in the car, to the cabin, the beach, or anywhere in the house! Because of its rise in popularity lately, there is lots of fun music to learn and to play! Students as young as 8 can play Ukulele and we even sell them at our studio!

Students will learn about the fundamentals of music and have a ton of fun playing traditional or popular music!

Loving the music you play is essential to a good ukulele learning experience. That is why our teachers will always strive to help you learn the style and types of music you love to make the music come alive in your lessons and practice.  And if you don’t have one style or type of ukulele music you love, our teachers will help you discover it!

While emphasizing the style of music you love is important, good technique is vital to success playing the ukulele. We will always work to make sure that all of our ukulele students are not only enjoying their lessons but learning the “right” way so they can be a successful musician the rest of their life.

There is no set answer of how long it takes, but with regular practice a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long-term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.

Yes. Even if you don’t have a musical background you can ask the teacher for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are doing exercises a certain number of times per day the student will progress. Parents will occasionally sit in on their child’s music lesson to get an idea of the proper way a song should sound or how the student should be positioning their hands.​

Our ukulele instructors teach folk, country, reggae and rock-n-roll styles — and classical too. Beginners work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Each lesson will challenge you with a new technique or music theory, and ends with something fun – such as your favorite riff or song. We employ a variety of ukulele method books based on student needs and preferences, and encourage students to bring smartphones or CDs to their lessons to learn their favorite tunes.

Our ukulele and music instructors have received their education from prestigious institutions such as New York University, Indiana University, the Berklee College of Music, Oxford University, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, South Carolina Governors School for the Arts, the Atlanta Ukulele Institute and Columbia College. Many have toured the US and Europe, and bring over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons.
